Yours very truly

A complete change: the history of a legal firm. A fascinating past, with all the various partners and other lawyers, their backgrounds, their quirks and oddities. The Allport family left a wonderful archive, where I could find much personal information about the firm.  As with many of these histories, I found the early years fascinating, the last 30 or 40 less so, because it’s hard to see the wood from the trees, and also because modern stuff is – well, we all know it already.

This was another book where it was hard to find a variety of photographs.  There are a lot of men in suits.
